A Merlin went east over Top Scrub this morning, a Hummingbird Hawkmoth was on Carr Naze, at least five Yellow Wagtails remain in the Carr Naze Pond area, and a similar cast of waders are at East Lea and the Dams. Yesterday (10th), single Balearic and Sooty Shearwaters were off the Brigg, along with four Arctic Skuas and 12 Manxies and a couple of Minke Whales; a Wood Sandpiper was with the wader congregation at the Dams.
On 9th, no fewer than five Minke Whales were feeding simultaneously to the north and north-east of Carr Naze, a Wood Sandpiper, six Green Sandpipers and 21 Snipe were notable at the Dams, and 10 Willow Warblers were in Top Scrub, where a Hobby and 14 Curlews went over.
