With White-fronted Geese arriving in small numbers along the coast in recent days, we were hopeful of getting some action here at Filey – and as of this evening we did, with no fewer than 28 dropping onto the fields just west of the Dams at last light today. Two dark-bellied Brents and 11 Ringed Plovers south were notables over the sea this morning.

A Red-necked Grebe went south yesterday (12th), but otherwise it’s very much as you were over the last couple of days, with two Snow Buntings on Carr Naze, the Long-tailed Duck and two Great Northern Divers off the Brigg, the juvenile Whooper Swan and Goldeneye at the Dams (to yesterday). Additionally on 11th a Goldeneye, a Red Breasted Merganser and three Great Northern Divers were in the bay and the Kingfisher was on the Brigg.
