Murky, mild conditions with south-easterly winds encouraged late autumn movements today, with incoming totals at Carr Naze including two Waxwings, 327 Blackbirds, 86 Fieldfares, 273 Redwings and 18 Song Thrushes, while passage over the sea included a Great Northern and 37 Red-throated Divers, 10 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, eight Gadwall, 140 Wigeon, 26 Little Gulls, a Pochard, 77 Dunlins and four Bar-tailed Godwits.
A Jack Snipe was flushed from the Brigg, where there also 36 Purple Sandpipers and a Kingfisher; just off the Brigg were a Black-throated Diver and a Red-necked Grebe.
