A juvenile Yellow-legged Gull was in the bay corner, and impressive wader passage over the Brigg and bay in the afternoon included 90 Whimbrel (in many groups), 59 Oystercatchers, a Bar-tailed Godwit, Green and Common Sandpipers, five Knot, 26 Redshank and 39 Dunlin. Also on the move were 105 Common Scoters, 191 Sandwich Terns, four Tufted Ducks and a Red-throated Diver, while two Ruff, two Snipe and 106 Lapwings were at the Dams.
On 19th, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull was in the Brigg area, 15 Crossbills flew south over the golf course, a Wood Sandpiper, a Snipe and a Dunlin were at East Lea, a Black-tailed Godwit, two Ruff and a Common Sandpiper were at the Dams, and movement on the sea included seven Shrelduck, 125 Common Scoter, 4 Red-throated Divers, 56 Manx Shearwaters, 50 Oystercatchers, 17 Whimbrels, 10 Sanderlings, two Knot, 185 Dunlins and 95 Sandwich Terns.
On 18th, our bioblitz was a huge success, logging around 900 species in the FBOG recording area! These included three Storm-petrels trapped overnight three Arctic Skuas past, Wood Sandpipers at the Dams and the Tip, Green Sandpipers at several sites and ajuvenile Mediterranean Gull over the Country Park.
