A great find near the Scarborough Road football pitch this morning concerned a Stone-curlew (NS et al.) – only the third ever Filey record (following the last in May four years ago), the bird was unfortunately disturbed soon after by the ploughing of its chosen field. Otherwise, it’s been quiet in northerly winds and relatively settled conditions.
