The month closed with a return to south-westerlies and a strong passage of finches and other species at the Gap, with highlights of 81 Crossbills, 90 Siskins, six Twite, 13 Mistle Thrushes, 1500 Starlings and a Jack Snipe moving through. A Snow Bunting frequented the path to the beach there. On the Brigg, 30 Purple Sandpipers, 21 Dunlins, the Kingfisher and the dark-bellied Brent were recorded.
Yesterday (30th), a Little Auk passed the Gap and another was grounded in a garden there, with singles of Pomarine Skua, Goldeneye and Velvet Scoter passing the Brigg.
