All today’s notable records could be seen from effectively the same spot on Carr Naze, featuring an excellent roll-call of winter specialities including a Black Guillemot, Black-throated and Great Northern Divers, a Long-tailed Duck, a Little Gull, two Snow Buntings, two Great Crested Grebes, eight Red-throated Divers, a Red-breasted Merganser, three Common Scoters and three Eiders.

Yesterday (3rd) was notable for strong wildfowl passage, which included c450 Pink-footed Geese and 27 Whooper Swans (26 south and one east) heading over, as well as the juvenile of the latter species still at the Dams, where there were also two Water Rails and a Siskin.
