A generally quiet start to the month, although a Rough-legged Buzzard over the west of the town on 2nd maintains our annual strike rate recently of this rare winter immigrant. Otherwise, a Lapland Bunting went through the Gap on 1st, with notable vismig there on 2nd including a Merlin, 42 Pink-feet, 85 Skylarks, 23 Siskins, two Med Gulls and a Woodcock, with two Snow Buntings on the beach path.
25 Crossbills and a Mediterranean Gull were the best of the Gap on 3rd, when a Snow Bunting was along North Cliff, and a further 28 Crossbills also moved through the Gap today. Otherwise a Black-tailed Godwit is at the Dams and the Kingfisher and dark-bellied Brent remain on the Brigg, with up to 30 Purple Sandpipers there.
