Our annual FBOG October Ringing Week will be held from Saturday 14th October to Saturday 21st, weather permitting. Most of the activity will be as usual in the Country Park in the top north-east corner (“the Top Scrub”). Ringing will be usually morning only, between 8 -11am. Our local ringers will be ably assisted by visiting ringers. Some ringing may also take place at the Tip, at the Heligoland Trap, if enough ringers are available. FBOG will have a manned table in the corner at most times for queries and merchandise. All welcome. Look out for further updates on this page.
Keith Clarkson will be at the Hunmanby Gap Carpark each morning from dawn pointing out vismig birds. Changes in wind direction will result in a move to Flamborough Head on occasion, or cancellation in grim conditions, so keep an eye on evening updates, on the websites, Whatsapp (for members) or X (Twitter).
Keith will also be giving a talk at Bempton on Monday 16th. 7.30pm Evening talk. ‘The changing fortunes of our breeding seabirds on the Flamborough and Filey Coast’ – Keith Clarkson
