From Monday 7th Feb 2022, for approximately 2 weeks, the Filey Old Tip reserve will be closed. This is to allow a contractor access with heavy equipment to construct two new wildlife ponds. On completion of the work, we will be in touch again. Mark Moore (FBOG Hon Sec)
The wintering Richard's Pipit continues to stay in the Rocket Pole Field, and can show very well on occasion around the Carr Naze pond. The bay has Great Northern Divers and the Brigg our iconic Purple Sandpipers, so always worth a look. The Recorder
It seems as if some observers are recording their sightings both on Birdtrack/Trektellen and on eBird. One or the other, guys and girls, it makes it difficult to ascertain if they are different records or not, and it saves you duplicating the effort. At the last AGM in 2021 it was agreed that we should tidy up our northern and southern boundaries. Scarborough Birders have always included Blue Dolphin CP in their area, and we appear to have accidentally included it in our area as well for a few years. So our northern boundary is now Bowes Lane
On 1st a Black-tailed Godwit was at the Dams, and again from 6th – 15th, with 2 Great Northern Diver fishing off Coble Landing. On 4th there were 4 Snow Bunting on Carr Naze (2 ringed). 2 Velvet Scoter were south off Brigg end. On 5th a Little Auk was off Carr Naze steps, and
