On 1st an eclectic selection including nine Barnacle Geese south off seafront, 10 Bottle-nosed Dolphins north side of Carr Naze, Chiffchaff – entrance to Country Park; Kingfisher Dams main hide & 20 Wigeon East Lea, Red-necked Grebe (stayed until 24th) inshore off Hunmanby Gap and two Short-eared Owls and a Barn Owl cliff top beyond Tip. A Lapland Bunting was in Top field in with Linnet flock, 52 Curlew north over top field, male Mandarin at Filey Dams, Cetti’s Warbler boardwalk, and two Snow Buntings near end Carr Naze on 2nd. In the bay were two Great Northern Divers, 1 Puffin, and 1 Razorbill. A Fieldfare end of Carr Naze on 4th. On 5th 46 Sanderling on beach by Coble Landing. A Slavonian Grebe was close in on 7th. Little Auk 2 south mid-bay, Manx Shearwater 1 S, Kittiwake 139 S, 2 N, Guillemot/Razorbill 237N, 51S and Goldeneye 1 N on a sea-watch. A Velvet Scoter north on 8th. 8 Great Northern Divers (5 bay, 3 N offshore), 11 Little Auks (7 bay, 4 offshore). Good conditions on 9th produced 145 Little Auk n, 3 Bonxie n, 3 Eider n and 1 Velvet Scoter s. On 14th a minimum of 6 Short-eared Owls in the area. A Whooper Swan flew over on 16th. On 23rd 24 Pink-footed Geese in field by East Lea. 56 Sanderling feeding off Hunmanby Gap on 24th. A Tawny Owl calling Parish Wood on 28th. And on 30th the local Linnet flock numbered 227.
