On 1st there was a Brent Goose in the Country Park and five Whooper Swans at Filey Dams briefly. 6 Great Northern Divers, 7 Red-throated Divers, 15 Great Crested Grebes, and 3 Wigeon were off the seafront. On 4th 12 Bottle-nosed Dolphins went north close inshore at Hunmanby Gap. 64 Red-throated Divers were counted in the area. Hundreds of Guillemots were on the Carr Naze cliffs and sea, and 4 Razorbills on 5th. On 6th and 7th small flocks of Pink-footed Geese were seen. On 10th a moulting Red Kite was on a house roof at Hunmanby Gap before flying west. On 11th a Woodcock went north at Hunmanby Gap. Also 40 Sanderlings were near bay corner. 125 Red-throated Divers were off Hunmanby Gap on 12th. An Egyptian Goose was at Filey Dams on 15th – 18th. 30 Bottle-nosed Dolphins were present on 17th. The Cetti’s Warbler was sub-singing back of Filey Dams. Common & Black-headed Gulls numbered 2000 in the roost. A Goosander was on Primrose Valley pond on 19th. A Lesser Black-backed Gull was seen on 20th. A movement of 50 Skylark went north over Hunmanby Gap on 21st. A Red Kite headed south along Speeton cliffs on 22nd. On 24th 5 Great Northern Divers, 1st winter Mediterranean Gull, 650 Black-headed Gull, 150 Common Gull, 700 Herring Gull, 2 Great Crested Grebes were in the roost. A Red-necked Grebe lingered off the seafront (Royal Parade) from 26th into March.
