On 1st a Twite was in with Linnets around Carr Naze pond. On 2nd five Whooper Swans  south, three Knots, a Sandwich Tern, a juvenile Kittiwake, a Woodcock and a Shag on the Brigg end. On 4th six Shags, a Wigeon, a Red-throated Diver and a juvenile Arctic Tern off Brigg end. Five Little Gull and a Commic Tern headed south at Hunmanby Gap. A Water Rail showed well at Filey Dams. A Brambling was in Top Scrub on 5th. 24 Whooper Swans went over. A small Starling murmuration of 300 birds over Filey Dams on 6th. A Great White Egret south over North Cliff on 8th. 1900 Starlings were near Hunmanby Gap/A165 roundabout. A Short-eared Owl was at the Tip. A Velvet Scoter in with the Common Scoter flock off the end of the Brigg.  At Hunmanby Gap on 10th: 120 Chaffinch, 1 Brambling, 85 Siskin, 55 Linnet south; 4 Corn Bunting north. A Slavonian Grebe was bay side, towards end of Carr Naze on 14th. Good numbers of waders on the Brigg at high tide – 75 Purple Sandpiper, 35 Sanderling, 10 Ringed-plover, 35 Oystercatcher, 8 Turnstone, 3 Redshank, 1 Curlew. On 15th a Water Rail was in the Cawthorne Crescent marsh. A Merlin was in the Rocket Post field. A Lapland Bunting south at Hunmanby Gap. On 16th two Snow Bunting on Carr Naze, which lingered for the rest o the month. A scarce Black-throated Diver was mid-distance off Coble Landing. Waders at high tide: 107 Oystercatcher, 53 Purple Sandpiper, 8 Turnstone, 1 Dunlin, 1 Redshank. Eleven Barnacle Geese headed south off the end of the Brigg on 18th. On 19th three Little Auks were seen, with a late Mediterranean Gull also present. On 20th a Little Auk and a Velvet Scoter along the seafront to bay corner. Three Little Auk flew north inshore past Hunmanby Gap. A Red-necked Grebe was at the bottom of Carr Naze steps on 21st. Fourteen Snipe were in the FF flood prevention area. c100 Golden Plover above the Tip on 22nd.  An adult Little Gull off Brigg end on 25th. A Great White Egret was briefly at Filey Dams. A Lapland Bunting was on Carr Naze on 26th.  37 White-fronted Geese flew south over Wooldale Drive. Three Short-eared Owls were at the Tip. Two Turnstone were at East lea on 28th. An Egyptian Goose flew over Top Scrub on 30th.
